My portfolio
The first request from a future ship owner was formed rather inaccurately. In general terms: training was required to get the qualification of a Yachtmaster Offshore (the future ship owner had an RYA certificate and sufficient experience to qualify). Another task concerned a catamaran transportation, at that time it was not exactly known which one.
A month was available for driving and training in June-July 2021.
First, we had to move a catamaran from Greece to France – the Cote d’Azur.
Secondly, we had to conduct training courses to pass all corresponding tests and to develop stable skills for managing a catamaran in any weather conditions.
It was necessary to work out mooring with a small team.
The training was organized for a family consisting of a husband and his wife.
The theoretical part was passed during the trip. Mooring and navigation were practiced later on, in the area of the catamaran permanent base.
Minor repairs were made.
The study plan was developed in such a way that each of the students could come at a convenient time, pass the training and leave.
The training campaign ended with a test swimming.
The training was conducted in English.

In June 2020, a company servicing motor yachts contacted me with the task of driving a motor yacht from near Barcelona to Gibraltar, issuing an exit from the EU, entering Gibraltar, refueling, delivering a boat for service in Alicante and maintenance.
Upon acceptance of the yacht, it was discovered that 6 out of 10 batteries were out of order, and the charger did not turn on. The batteries were replaced, the fuse for the Z / U was replaced as well. However, we were lucky with the weather: the entire stretch remained calm, before reaching 60 miles to Gibraltar, we got into fog, but the breeze and daytime warming up allowed us to pass along the edge of the fog and along the coast.
I had planned refueling, since the tank on such a boat is only 2,200 liters. To save fuel consumption, it was decided to go in a mixed mode: speedboat and displacement. The optimal operation mode for such engines is 70% of the maximum power. At low speeds, such engines cannot work for a long time.
The results of the trip: all the documents were drawn up, the boat was delivered to Alicante for service.
A private ship owner approached me in November 2019 to train and qualify for the Bareboat Skipper motor boat and the VHF Radio Operator Certificate. During my training, I read a theory of 36 academic hours and the ship owner passed a theoretical test. The practice with mooring has been passed successfully. Additional sailing trip is planned to acquire stable skills of motor yacht management.
In 2015, a private owner several yachts approached me. The goal was to cross the ocean on the Swan 100 yacht, and to participate in the ARC regatta.
All documents were drawn up, and fees were paid to participate in the regatta. A plan was developed to prepare the yacht for the ocean crossing, taking into account the requirements of the ARC regatta racing committee. The yacht’s technical state was checked and a list of routine maintenance has been compiled. We purchased spare parts for the sailing trip, and installed additional equipment. We renewed the certificates of life-saving appliances and trained the team. We went out to sea to inspect the repairs. A commercial route plan has been drawn up.
The cruise did not take place because the ship owner had changed his plans. The contract was closed in accordance with the interests of all parties. Additional advanced training was done and all corresponding certificates were issued.
In October 2014, we developed and held the Historical Quest Regatta “Treasures of the East India Company” with 33 people participating.
The script we created included a variety of tasks and competitions, as well as the quest regatta program itself. We rented ancient Dutch ships to conduct it and organized a special training course for the captains to manage them. A guest speaker helped us maintain the atmosphere of the historic Dutch hike, and a video operator captured the hike.
Although the route had to be adjusted according to the weather forecast, all competitions were held and the teams were able to complete every task. There races were held. You can take a dip in the atmosphere of the old Holland and the historical regatta by watching our film.
We organized and held a regatta in the Naples area. More than 200 people and 28 yachts participated in the regatta. We have developed a route taking into account local sights and invited an operator to record what was happening. Thanks to our extensive coastline and regatta events (a meeting evening in a pre-booked restaurant), we were able to make enough filming. Marinas for parking yachts of the participants were also booked beforehand, as well as organized refereeing.
The route races were held, including several classical distance races. Important events of the regatta: the evening of acquaintances, the evening of the award, a separate race for the prize on May 9, race on lifeboats. You can watch it in our movie.
